Expressions of Life aims to capture the very essence of who we are, highlighting the distinctiveness and character of each individual. A journey told through portraits. This series aims to showcase the human spirit.

[dropcap]I[/dropcap] like doing ‘urban portraits’ without asking people to pose. It’s more in the subjects’ own environment, their own place where they feel more comfortable. I didn’t want to alter anything, I go by instinct first – I approach people on the street, have an informal conversation and then, from there, see if I can capture their portrait.
There are many pictures, many subjects – each one has its own character, own flavour, own personality.  – Ricardo Palavecino

“I started my shop just as a place to work on my own stuff. Say goodbye to the girlfriend or wife, kids, pets, hobbies, free time – pretty much anything that isn’t building customers’ cars. I recommend at least two or three full builds under your belt or a solid five years or more of work at a reputable shop before going out on your own.”

“Money made from live shows can vary greatly, but it’s still one of the best ways to earn an income. Not only can you make money from selling tickets, it’s also one of the best ways to sell merch. Having CDs on hand is still a good idea. They make great takeaway souvenirs that can easily be signed by band members.”

According to research on female gang members, poor home life, a search for an identity, and a search for social interaction and belonging are the main reasons girls join gangs.
In poor urban areas, “the home lives of gang girls are marked frequently by breakdown and dysfunction, at worst resulting in physical and sexual abuse”.
Many girls who do not have a loving home or support structure seek it outside of the home in hopes that the gang will be their surrogate family.”
