_ Chileans of Perth _
[dropcap]Chileans[/dropcap] are the second largest group of Latin Americans in Australia. On September 11, 1973 a military coup, lead by General Augusto Pinochet, overthrew the elected socialist president Salvador Allende. A dictatorship and a long period of political unrest followed. Many Chileans decided to flee the country, some to Perth, Western Australia.
